The Animal Neurology & Imaging Center (The ANIC) within the Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center provides a range of treatment options for dogs and cats experiencing neurological dysfunction, disorders and/or disease. Our board-certified veterinary neurologists have the training and experience necessary to develop a treatment plan that can improve health and longevity outcomes for your furry family member.
Types of Treatment We Offer
The ANIC has the capability to provide a wide range of treatment options for pets with neurological conditions, including:
- Short- or long-term prescription medication
If our neurological examination and/or advanced imaging results indicate a non-neurological medical condition is causing your pet’s symptoms, we will consult with your regular veterinarian and/or refer you to another veterinary specialist for additional diagnostic testing and treatment.
Superior Treatment for Pets with Neurological Disorders
Regulations governing the practice of veterinary medicine do not limit general veterinarians’ ability to administer neurological treatment. However, general practicing vets do not have the specialized training and experience to provide the best care for your pet.
The doctors at The ANIC are all board-certified veterinary neurologists, and our Austin, TX clinic is equipped with the advanced imaging technology required to confirm many neurological diagnoses. We are the best qualified to identify the cause of your pet’s neurological symptoms and administer treatment without the increased health risks associated with an under-experienced practitioner.
How to Get Neurological Treatment for Your Pet
Before your pet can get treatment, your pet needs an accurate diagnosis. Contact us to make an appointment for a neurological examination at our Austin clinic. If an exam in insufficient to diagnose your pet, we can often do the MRI or CT scan required the same day to minimize back-and-forth travel with your ailing pet.
